MAVERICK Independent Thinking in Patternmaking

‘Maverick’ is about using technical knowledge across patternmaking, draping and fabrication to communicate my personal creative expression. The concept for my graduate collection really came out of my love for the craft of patternmaking, and it's purpose is to show the breadth of my techniques and capabilities as a designer. Colour blocking is used to highlight the complicated patternmaking techniques throughout the collection.

I’m very much aware of how my clothes will move when worn and creating great movement in the silhouette .

The collections purpose is to display the techniques and capabilities I have gained and developed over my time at university. I hope that when viewing the collection that people appreciate the craft of creating garments and the myriad of skills that it requires.
